We’re happy to share that our customer, Alpine Bank, is receiving national recognition for its effort to help low-income families reduce their utility bills.
The American Bankers Association Foundation honored Alpine Bank’s community solar program in the ABA’s 2017 Community Commitment Awards. The awards recognize banks for initiatives supporting affordable housing, volunteerism and more. Alpine Bank uses CEC community solar arrays to offset the electricity use of 20 branches in Colorado. They also donated a portion of their community solar panel ownership to Summit County’s Family and Intercultural Resource Center, a nonprofit organization that supports local families in need. The bank’s donation allows the center to assign solar energy credits to families that in turn benefit from reduced electric bills.
Congrats to our friends at Alpine Bank for their big win! To read more about how Alpine Bank is using community solar, please read our case study. The Business Times of Western Colorado also covered Alpine Bank’s recent award win. Read the article here.
