Around the World on a Solar-Powered Bike

Around the World on a Solar-Powered Bike

How do you raise awareness about solar energy and travel the world at the same time? India’s Sushil Pakala Reddy may have found the solution. In 2016 he started The SunPedal Ride – a movement to create awareness about solar energy and encourage others to use eco-friendly transportation like electric bikes. He began his solar-powered electric bike ride in India, traveling thousands of miles (Sushil actually set a Guinness World Record for the longest journey on a motorized bicycle!) and hosting dozens of public events along the way to encourage conversations about sustainability and solar power.

After traveling through India, Sushil created additional SunPedal rides through France and parts of the United States. In a recent interview in Clean Technica, Sushil says he’s looking forward to continuing his solar-powered journey:

“I am planning more rides across the world on a solar powered electric bike to promote solar e-mobility and clean energy & transportation among the masses.”
